Arrangements For The Start Of The School Day
School officially starts at 8.15am (in all classes). Students are expected to be in their classes at this time. However, Attendance Registers remain open until 8.30am. Children arriving after this time will be 'marked' as Late.
All teachers are expected to be in their classrooms from 8am and are available to see parents between 8am and 8.15am.
Key Stage 1
Unless attending the Early Morning Club (see below), no children should arrive before 8am. Between 8am and 8.15am (when school officially starts), parents are expected to remain with their children (in the areas outside their classrooms) as teachers will not be on supervision duties until 8.15am. In the event of 'bad weather', classrooms will be open from 8am.
Key Stage 2
Unless attending the Early Morning Club (see below), no children should arrive before 8am. Between 8am and 8.15am (when school officially starts), a small number of Key Stage 2 staff are on supervision duty on the Sports Field. Any children arriving between those times should go straight to the Sports Field. In the event of 'bad weather', classrooms will be open from 8am.
School Administration
The School Office will be open from 8am every day.
Arrangements For The End Of The School Day
School officially finishes at 3pm and all students (unless registered for an 'After-School programme' - see below) are expected to leave the site at this time. School staff cannot be responsible for children after this time.
Key Stage 1
Reception and Year 1 - Parents are expected to collect their children from the classrooms.
Years 2 and 3 - Parents are expected to collect their children from the grass area outside the Year 2 / 3 building.
Any children not collected by 3.10pm will be taken to the School Office where a register is kept. Children that are repeatedly left in school beyond 3.10pm may be referred to the Department for Education Services and / or the Department for Family & Children Services.
Key Stage 2
Teachers will walk their classes to the school gates (by the Library) where they will be dismissed. Those children that need to collect their younger siblings will be allowed to collect them before leaving the school site.
Please note that teachers will be available from 3.pm to 3.30pm to see parents.
School Administration
The School Office closes at 5pm every day (on occasion when it needs to close before this, parents will be notified).
Early Morning Programme
The PTA provides an Early Morning Club for KS1 and KS2 students. Both Clubs start at 7.15am and children go straight from the Early Morning Club to their classrooms for 8.15am. Both clubs are supervised by staff that are provided by the PTA (several of these are teachers or assistant teachers from within the school).
The KS1 Early Morning Club takes place in the School Hall and the KS2 Early Morning Club takes place in the KS2 Canteen (although the School Sorts Field is also used by the KS2 children).
Please note the 'Early Morning Clubs' are not part of the 'School Day' and attending the Clubs is not an entitlement for any students. Therefore, any students that do not behaviour appropriately will not be allowed to attend until they can demonstrate the standard of behaviour that is expected from all students.
If you would like your child to attend either of the Early Morning Clubs, a Registration Form must be completed before they can start attending. Registration Forms can be collected from the School Office, from the staff in one of the Early Morning Clubs or downloaded from our Website. Completed Registration Forms are required for 'Health and Safety' reasons and attendance registers are taken every day. Any children whose parents have not completed a 'Registration Form' will not be allowed to attend.
After School Programmes
There are two 'After-School Programmes' available to students. One is run by the YMCA and takes place on the school site. Several members of school staff work in the programme although it is not part of the school day or part of their teaching contract with the Ministry. The other Programme is run by a local Church. Children are collected from their classrooms and escorted to the Programme.
If parents would like more information on either of these Programmes, please contact the School Office.
