Principal’s Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I extend a warm welcome to Creek & Spot Bay Primary School. It is truly an honour to serve as Principal of Creek & Spot Bay Primary School with Mrs. Caroline Frederick as my Deputy Principal. I feel privileged to work with an outstanding staff, and I am excited to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the success and well-being of all our students.
Creek & Spot Bay Primary School is a unique place to learn and grow. We are proud of our two campuses: the Infant School (located at Creek) with its lovely fruit trees and the majestic Bluff and the Junior School (situated at Spot Bay) with its shady grape trees and the Caribbean Sea. Our tranquil settings enhance the high expectations we have for each student. Our students are kind, compassionate, and curious and together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make them feel loved, valued, accepted, and safe.
We have been working hard to implement best practices to bridge the gaps in learning, extend our gifted/talented students and mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19 and other contagious diseases. Our classroom environments and schedules have been modified to increase greater access to learning opportunities, timed breaks and outdoor learning spaces. In addition, social-emotional learning has been emphasised as we continue to implement the Zippy and Apple Friends programme in our classrooms. Additionally, we promote the safety of our students by ensuring that staff receive training in Child Protection Policies and Procedures and First Aide.
Our Creek & Spot Bay motto of “Achieving Greater Heights Together” will continue to guide our mission to provide a rigorous, caring and welcoming school environment. Whether we are learning in person or remotely at home, our goal is to encourage active student engagement, fostering a lifelong love for learning.
Our teachers use research-based strategies to promote high student achievement by integrating the 4 C’s – Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity. Moreover, we feel strongly that the initiatives already in place provide a strong foundation for outstanding learning. This, along with the support of our families, stakeholders and the community, makes Creek & Spot Bay Primary School an exceptional place to work, learn, socialize and develop into capable individuals ready to take on the challenges of high school.
Partnering with families is crucial as we face the challenge of bridging the learning gaps due to the global pandemic. We appreciate the support of our parents as they work with their children at home to reinforce concepts/skills taught at school while continuing to practice safety protocols, such as washing hands.
Further, we encourage families to stay connected and informed by following our Facebook page, WhatsApp class chats and newsletters for essential updates and information.
A final note – Our Positive Behaviour Intervention Strategies (PBIS) slogan, TURTLES – Turtles are Understanding, Respectful, Tolerant, Life-Long Learners, who strive for Excellence, is another initiative that helps to promote our school’s motto, vision and mission.
